a multimedia magician

Brian was ready to quit his corporate job and launch his own multimedia studio when he came to me for his logo. First, we identified his archetype: the magician. Brian knew that he had the ability to use his camera to shape perception and the power to make his subject be anything they wanted to be. He wanted clients who could envision the best version of themselves or their companies--so he could come alongside and make them look like a star. We articulated that his ideal client valued being on trend, current and modern and that they wanted a luxury experience.

Because we articulated this and his values at the beginning, I developed a deceptively simple BLN wordmark that had a hint of magic. The strokes of the letters disappear, sparkle, and morph into each other. We chose a chic, narrow color palette and simple type styles. From there, we did basic collateral based on his platform: a bifold brochure and some letterpress business cards.

BLN's visual identity has continued to evolve while maintaining the color palette and iconic star. I'm happy to see it develop and yet remain true to the magician archetype and platform. He's rocking it as an entrepreneur and making magic for his clients every day!
